Botic acid  is a water-soluble compound that contains oxygen, boron, and hydrogen. It comes in powder or crystal form and is often used to treat vaginal yeast infections.

It is an antifungal medication that works to prevent the growth of Candida fungi. Doctors recommend it as a second-line treatment for recurrent yeast infections when other medications don’t work.

Yeast infection symptoms can include itching, burning, or irritation of the skin and the inside of your mouth and throat. In some cases, a yeast infection can get worse and spread to other areas of your body.

What is Boric Acid and How Can It Benefit Your Health

You can use boric acid to control a variety of pests. Sodium borate salts, including sodium metaborate and borax, kill insects by disrupting their stomachs and nervous systems. They also stop the growth of fungi, like mold.

Soil toxicity

When boron and borate salts are present in the soil, they can cause plant problems. They can cause yellowing and cracking of leaves and bark and the loss of roots and stems. This is especially true in citrus and nut trees.

Exposure to boric acid can also lead to serious health effects in people. It can be irritating to the eye and corrosive to skin. In extreme amounts, it can cause a red, “boiled lobster” like skin rash with skin loss.

Other symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, stomach aches, diarrhea, and itchy skin. You may have trouble breathing or your heart may beat faster.

If you are pregnant, you should talk to your doctor before taking this medicine. It may increase the risk of birth defects or other health problems in your baby. It can also cause a serious bowel problem in babies, especially those born prematurely.
