Is fostering worth it UK?

When a Foster Carer’s review is referred to an Enhanced Review, the IRO manager will allocate an IRO and advise the Fostering Manager, Practice Supervisor and Supervising Social Worker (SSW). The IRO will prepare a pre-review review pack and share it with the Foster Carer and SSW before the meeting. The meeting will be held with the IRO present and may include other professionals if appropriate.

Where the Enhanced Review recommends that the foster carer’s approval be altered, the Foster Carer will be informed in writing of this and a copy of the report will be retained on their LCS file. If the Foster Carer wishes to challenge the decision, they have the right to make representations to the Fostering Panel and therefore the Agency Decision Maker. Notification of the decision, together with reasons, will be sent to the Foster Carer within 7 days of the decision being made.
